Corporate History

1934 Kosaburo Chikamori founds Toyo Steel Ball Seisakusho and starts manufacturing steel balls for bicycles.
1936 Kaichiro Morii establishes Toyo Steel Ball Seisakusho General Partnership Company.
1939 Launches as a joint-stock company as Toyo Steel Ball Manufacturing
Co., Ltd. Setsuzo Tsubakimoto is appointed as first president.
1941 Begins manufacturing and sale of chrome steel balls.
1951 The factory is approved by JIS (Japan Industrial Standards).
1954 Changes name to Tsubakimoto Steel Ball Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
1958 Begins mass production of nylon, stainless, brass and other special balls. Manufacturing and sale of tungsten carbide balls starts.
1959 Starts manufacturing and sale of ball screws. Goes public on the OTC market in Osaka
1961 Listed on the second section of both the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges
1968 Company is renamed to Tsubakimoto Precision Products Co., Ltd.
1969 Completes and starts operation of Koriyama Plant. Begins sale of ball bushings.
1970 Starts manufacturing and sale of rolled thread ball screws and rolled ball splines.
1973 Starts manufacturing and sale of ceramic balls.
1980 Listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
1981 Starts manufacturing and sale of precision positioning tables.
1982 Starts manufacturing and sale of precision ball ways.
1983 Starts manufacturing and sale of precision ball splines.
1986 Starts manufacturing and sale of stock ball screws, ceramic ball screws, hollow ball screws and LPM positioning table.
1988 Listed on the first section of both the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges.
1990 Acquires the assets of Hoover Group’s steel ball division in the United States.
1996 Merges with Nakashima Seisakusho Co., Ltd., Tsubaki Nakashima Co., Ltd. is established.
2002 Tsubaki-Hoover (Taicang) Co., Ltd. established.
2003 Acquires ZET (Zaklad Elementow Tocznych) factory from Polish state-owned company FLT
(Fabryk Loczysk Tocznych).
2006 Acquires ChongQing Steel Ball Co., Ltd, in China.
2007 Becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNN Investment Co., Ltd. by way of a share-for-share exchange and delisted from the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges.
2010 Established Taiwan Tsubaki Nakashima Co., Ltd.
Established Tsubaki Hoover India Pvt., Ltd.
2013 Established Tsubaki Nakashima Global Pte. Ltd.
Acquires Spheric-Trafalgar Ltd., in United Kingdom.
Acquires Spheric-Trafalgar (Thailand) Ltd., in Thailand.
2015 Established Tsubaki Nakashima Korea Co., Ltd.
Re-listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2017 Acquires Precision Bearing Components Group of NN Inc.
