Corporate History

1934 Kosaburo Chikamori founded Toyo Steel Ball Seisakusho and started manufacturing steel balls for bicycles.
1936 Kaichiro Morii established Toyo Steel Ball Seisakusho General Partnership Company.
1939 Launched as a joint-stock company as Toyo Steel Ball Manufacturing
Co., Ltd. Setsuzo Tsubakimoto was appointed as first president.
1941 Began manufacturing and sale of chrome steel balls.
1951 The factory was approved by JIS (Japan Industrial Standards).
1954 Changed name to Tsubakimoto Steel Ball Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
1958 Began mass production of nylon, stainless, brass and other special balls. Started manufacturing and sale of tungsten carbide balls.
1959 Started manufacturing and sale of ball screws. Went public on the OTC market in Osaka
1961 Listed on the second section of both the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges
1968 Company was renamed to Tsubakimoto Precision Products Co., Ltd.
1969 Completed and started operation of Koriyama Plant. Began sale of ball bushings.
1970 Started manufacturing and sale of rolled thread ball screws and rolled ball splines.
1973 Started manufacturing and sale of ceramic balls.
1980 Listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
1981 Started manufacturing and sale of precision positioning tables.
1982 Started manufacturing and sale of precision ball ways.
1983 Started manufacturing and sale of precision ball splines.
1986 Started manufacturing and sale of stock ball screws, ceramic ball screws, hollow ball screws and LPM positioning table.
1988 Listed on the first section of both the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges.
1990 Acquired the assets of Hoover Group’s steel ball division in the United States.
1996 Merged with Nakashima Seisakusho Co., Ltd., Tsubaki Nakashima Co., Ltd. was established.
2002 Established TN TAICANG CO., LTD. (formerly Tsubaki-Hoover (Taicang) Co., Ltd.).
2003 Acquired ZET (Zaklad Elementow Tocznych) factory from Polish state-owned company FLT
(Fabryk Loczysk Tocznych).
2006 Acquired ChongQing Steel Ball Co., Ltd, in China.
2007 Became a wholly-owned subsidiary of TNN Investment Co., Ltd. by way of a share-for-share exchange and delisted from the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges.
2010 Established TN TAIWAN CO., LTD. (formerly Taiwan Tsubaki Nakashima Co., Ltd.).
Established TN INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED (formerly Tsubaki Hoover India Pvt., Ltd.).
2013 Established TN ASIA PTE. LTD. (formerly Tsubaki Nakashima Global Pte. Ltd.).
Acquired TN UNITED KINGDOM, LTD. (formerly Spheric-Trafalgar Ltd.), in United Kingdom.
Acquired TN RAYONG LTD. (formerly Spheric-Trafalgar (Thailand) Ltd.), in Thailand.
2015 Established TN KOREA CO., LTD. (formerly Tsubaki Nakashima Korea Co., Ltd.).
Re-listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2017 Acquired Precision Bearing Components Group of NN Inc.
